About us

Stephen M. Blovat, V.P., OHST, CSHS, OSHA Outreach Trainer

I'm 44 years old.  I enjoy camping, shooting weapons at the range, cooking, and traveling with my family. I like to have fun in whatever I do.  I am married to my best friend Lucy. We have been married for 15 years and have three children. I am an Army Veteran of 24 years.  My jobs include light infantry soldier, flight nurse, MEDEVAC pilot, AH64 Apache pilot and Aviation Safety Officer. I have worked in law enforcement as a Sheriff's Deputy in Beauregard Parish, Louisiana. I am a saved Christian and would not have all of the above without HIM.  I have been working in safety for 15 years. I am an Occupational Health and Safety Technologist (OHST) through The American Board of Industrial Hygiene and The Board of Certified Safety Professionals.  I am a Certified Safety and Health Specialist through Eastern Kentucky University, as well as an OSHA Outreach Trainer.  As an Army Safety Officer, I teach, instruct and coach everything included in CFR 29 General Industry to as many as 300 soldiers and civilians at a time.  I develop multiple standard operating procedures (SOP’s) for every process in the CFR 29. All of my inspections, processes, procedures and standards are developed using every relevant OSHA standard(s).  They are maintained at OSHA standards unless I can increase the level of safety to a higher standard.   As the Safety Officer for as many as 900 soldiers and civilians, maintaining safety records, completing safety training, investigating accidents, and inspecting multiple critical areas within multiple buildings and people can be quite challenging.   I have been inspected every year for the last ten years.  The inspection is called a FORSCOM ARMS as well as a CIP.  At each inspection my entire program is closely scrutinized for at least two days by safety inspectors.  Every year my programs achieve an overall 90% or better.   This should speak for itself.  I take safety very seriously.

Safety is not typically an exciting job, nor does it pay outstanding fees.  To all of us here safety is an important necessity.  Without safety cost lives, increases injuries, and costs money.  We did not begin this business for anything other than to help people.  Money for us is not the bottom line or our motivation, YOUR safety is.   I always say, “If you think safety is expensive, wait until you pay for the accident”
